Its thursday. Technically speaking, its not yet over. But at least the ECMETRE defense is. It wasn't fun. Naturally. I had to stay up late so I could finish the powerpoint. Before that, I didn't sleep before since I needed to finish the proposal.
Was it worth it?
I had class this morning. 8am. I was sleepy since I got up at around 5am. I didn't even finish the presentation yet. Still, had no time to waste. I only got 52 in my exam but I wasn't surprised. I didn't know how to answer it anyway. Still, at 930am, we were dismissed.
I went upstairs to the lab where I stayed until the defense. Fortunately, I was able to talk a bit with the professor who gave me an idea of what we really wanted in the thesis proposal. Little did I know how much he would really contribute to a decent defense.
Our prof was late. The other panelist arrived a full five minutes before our prof. Whoever said that fewer panelists were better thought wrong. She was as good as two. But still, it was fine. We weren't grilled as bad as I thought.
We got out of the fire alright. Even better, the panelist said it was good enough. Is it really good enough? I could have sworn she put a lot of red ink on the proposal. Still, its over. Thats enough for me...

Utter Chaos
Its chaotic in school today. Its going to be chaotic in school for the entire week. Its not due to the elections for student council since its already done, there is something more terrible and horrifying than that. Yep. I'm saying it. End of Term Requirement Week. Its not exactly term end yet. The finals are still *gulp* around two weeks away. However, since Holy Week is just around the corner, exams, projects and reports/defenses have to be completed now. Its not that I'm not a victim of this. Its just that I somehow understand the reason why this burden seems to fall on the student population.
Reason One: Procrastination
One word which explains a lot of people. It can take a lot of forms. Laziness, dependency on genius groupmates, sleepiness, etc. The thing is, people rarely start working unless the deadline is staring them in the face.
Reason Two: Cramming
Usually an outcome of reason one, yet sometimes unavoidable. What else can you do but cram since all the requirements are given late in the term? Of course, when it happens term after term, you can't help but get used to it which leads us to its other cause...
Reason Three: Late Requirement Announcements
This is very obvious in laboratory projects. Teachers say they don't want to give the projects early since the students are liable to just copy an existing project. It happens often so when you come across one who will tell you the project early, you usually lack motivation to do it as soon as possible.
These reasons are just three of the many reasons why its chaotic here. Actually, I can't even hear myself think well because of the noise. So noisy is the atmosphere, so disorganized is life. Including mine.

Simply Roaming
After the exam yesterday, I went to the mall (guess where) to just walk around a bit. Went around my usual way, going through some tops, looking around in Ace Hardware and still can't find what I'm looking for. When I got outside, apparently, Human had an affair at the Music Hall but it was too crowded for me to get any decent pics. Heading back in, Paris Hilton apparently has a new scent. This time, I was able to get a shot albeit a bit far.
Well, I was supposed to be looking for a dress shirt for thursday. But, I was a bit lazy to pull out my wallet. Nevertheless, I did manage to keep some items in mind. Specifically, that Arrow had a shirt that I would eventually get. I went through my usual route. Gadgets, shirts, food, and yes, food. I decided to have something at Perks Coffeehouse (did I get that right?). To be specific, it was a cold chocolate drink and a blueberry cheesecake (to the person who might say that I copied, I ordered before you hehehe...). The thing is, the girl at the counter asked me if I wanted to access the net. Hmm... I wonder why. I decided to take a seat outside since it was already 6:30. Why not enjoy the fireworks while eating I said. So the food came. The cake looked (and was) delicious. But I think they could use a better blender. Or at least keep the ice in it for a bit longer. Aside from that though, I got another (this time pleasant) surprise. They had free WiFi! Too bad I wasn't able to bring my laptop (noting the exam earlier). But she gave me a card anyway. Three hours free isn't too bad.
Seriously, my cam
I forgot what exactly we ordered. But then, it wasn't that special anyway. I sort of preferred pier one except for the grilled salmon. Really liked that part.
I ended up buying my shirt two days after in Festival Supermall. Got two, one from Arrow (told ya) and one from I think Densa? Also got a pair of pants to match in case two days of constant business attire makes its move. To top off my weekend, sunday afternoon, we ate lunch at Serye.
logoThe food was ok. Nothing special, nothing crappy. The serving was adequate for the price though. Come to think of it, this was around all I did over the weekend. Maybe thats why I cram so much in school.
