I know this won't apply to everyone but it sure applies to me. This past week has been one tiring day after another. It officially ends on Tuesday but the fact that I can sleep soundly tonight is a big deal. Last week, I could not appreciate well the beautiful things around me. The environment, the people, except maybe for the funny stuff that happened while reviewing for the exams.
This afternoon, exams over, I went to one of my usual hangouts. During the mass, as usual, I was standing outside. The wind blew and shook some leaves off a tree behind me. It instantly changed the atmosphere of the place and probably, I would not have noticed had I an exam next week.
One of the performers for the Weekend Fete gave me a coupon and who am I to resist a free item. Turns out, I just had to fill out a survey for Shangri-La Hotels and I get a cookie. Is it really noticeable that I am a Lasallian? Or did my green (non-DLSU) shirt give me away? Whatever it was, I can't say I wasn't shocked when the rep in the Shang boutique at GB5 asked outright if I was studying in La Salle. Either way, the conversation did keep me awake. And they were nice ladies too.
Before I went home, I decided to pass through GB5 one more time since there were a lot less people walking in that direction. Someone was testing the tiles in the walkway for the light patterns and I have to say, I couldn't help but bring out my little PaS. The patterns were nice and bright and I would definitely not have seen it had I been preoccupied. If I was, I'd go the other way and not see this. Hehe.
Some of my learnings today (not necessarily related to the post above)
1. Beauty is best seen with a calm mind.
2. Good rapport may have an upside, but as with everything else, it has a downside too.
3. Being tired doesn't get you lost. A wandering mind does.
4. JW is nice and classy when big, but cheap looking when tiny.

When your mind is not calm, you cease to see what is beautiful.
